Advantages of becoming a National Trust member

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is the biggest conservation charity and membership organization for heritage conservation in Europe. It covers England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, but there is an independent National Trust in Scotland. National Trust owns hundreds of properties across the United Kingdom, a large amount of British coastline, and various nature reserves. It protects and maintains places like these so we can enjoy them for generations to come. But like all charity based organizations, National Trust needs its members and supporters to exist.

Why National Trust?

National Trust is one of the largest landowners in the United Kingdom. It has over 248,000 hectares of land and roughly 800 miles of coastline in its possession. The properties include over 500 historic houses, castles, archaeological and industrial monuments, gardens, parks, and nature reserves. Most properties are open to the public for a charge and open spaces are free to all. With a membership you can enjoy all of these properties for free and also you’re helping a good cause.

  • Free parking

Where without membership you’d need to pay a parking fee every time you visit a beach or a nature reserve, with National Trust membership this is free. So you can visit and park for free at your favorite beach as often as you like.

  • Free entrance

Your membership gives you unlimited free entrance in any of many houses, nature reserves, and other National Trust owned properties. If you do travel and explore a lot, you will find yourself saving lots of money with a membership.

  • Members handbook

When becoming a National Trust member you will get a handbook full of various different places you can visit and explore for free. Of course, there is also the internet that offers lots of information about this.

  • Members Magazine
